When Hurt People Hurt Themselves - Supporting Young People Who Self-Harm

Self-harming behaviours among young people are sadly on the rise in the UK, and children in foster or adoptive care are at an even higher risk. As a parent or someone who works with children, it can feel extremely overwhelming and confusing to witness these behaviours. Not knowing how to respond can leave both you and the child struggling.

This course is designed for parents (especially those who foster or adopt), as well as professionals who work with children, who want practical, expert guidance and real-world strategies to support children safely and effectively. The session is led by psychotherapist Fi Newood, who combines her professional expertise with her personal experience. This course will provide you with insights far beyond what books or articles can offer.

Attend this course, and you will learn how to respond in ways that truly help, understand the connection between self-harm, trauma, and attachment, and gain confidence in supporting your child while protecting your own wellbeing.
