Course overview
We all make assumptions — it’s part of being human. But when caring for fostered and adopted children, assumptions can quickly get in the way. They can lead to misunderstandings, conflict, and missed chances to connect.
This workshop will help you recognise the assumptions you may be making (about yourself, your child, or a situation) and give you practical ways to move past them. By doing so, you’ll be able to respond with greater empathy, patience, and clarity — building stronger, more trusting relationships with the children in your care.
Certification included
Evidence your learning with a bespoke Flourish Foundation certificate on completion.
What will you learn?
- Awareness of how assumptions shape your thinking and responses
- Strategies to challenge unhelpful assumptions before they cause harm
